MAJOR UPGRADES PLANNED FOR KIDSTOWN
Projects totalling almost $200,000 have been earmarked for KidsTown over the next 6 months including extensions to the miniature railway and major upgrades to the site water supply.
The miniature railway upgrade will include the building of a rail crossing bridge, large viewing mounds, gardens, walking paths, sheltered picnic areas and a 40 foot tunnel.
Greater Shepparton City Council have committed $130,000 to the project which includes an upgrade of the water supply to the site to meet Country Fire Authority recommendations.
$30,000 needs to be raised through a portion of the entry donations made by the playground user's and KidsTown Playground Coordinator Steven Wilson has asked that wherever possible families contribute a gold coin when they visit, not only to help with this project, but so that KidsTown can continue to be maintained at the high standards that we expect from our unique facility.
A further $30,000 is required through sponsorship and support of commercial organisations.
Any persons or businesses who would like to donate their time or funds to this great project can contact KidsTown on 0358 314213.
